Well, I think pink is the color I project. Cheerful, naive, maybe a little dumb and reserved. On the other hand, my favorite color depends on the day. FYI today is probably green.
The truth is no one can be defined solely by one color. Other’s perception of me may be misguided, but I never intended for that to happen.
Sometimes, I meet people, try to befriend them, and end up with hurt feelings. So I put up this pink wall. Cheerful, distant, and numbing. It helps me feel empowered, like it didn’t matter that I’m probably not cool enough.
It’s defensive, and how I may be misunderstood to others. It is not purposeful. So Anon, if you think I’m misunderstood, you’re probably right; but keep this in mind, even in the pinkest person, there’s a little bit of black to prove how everyone is a little more complicated than that.
